Healthcare

Noisy hospitals, clinics, doctors offices and health research facilities can have a direct, negative impact on outcomes for patients and staff. The inability to sleep is an obvious obstacle to the healing process, but noise can also increase stress to patients and distractions to healthcare workers. In an era where the redevelopment of our healthcare facilities is a major focus for governments, owners, managers and patients alike, acoustics and noise control play a vital role in ensuring that our facilities will provide the best patient experience possible for decades to come.

We consult with architects, engineers, owners and other stakeholders in the design of healthcare facilities to address all aspects of acoustics and noise control, including sound isolation between sensitive rooms, room acoustics in patient areas, offices and large public spaces, and background noise levels from building mechanical systems.

We have extensive experience implementing the acoustical design requirements of various standards and guidelines applicable to healthcare projects, including LEED requirements, FGI guidelines and CSA Z8000.
