As an independent acoustical consulting firm, we provide unbiased assessments, recommendations and design solutions for all types of acoustic and noise control projects, ranging from small renovations to large-scale building developments and public infrastructure projects. Our main services offerings are divided into five key practice areas:

Sound Isolation

We design for airborne and impact sound isolation between individual rooms or different occupancies in a building. As sound will always find the weakest point or “path of least resistance” to transmit between two spaces, our holistic approach to sound isolation design considers all possible transmission paths together as a system when developing design recommendations. We have particular interest in acoustic design for high security applications and for mass timber buildings.

Room Acoustics

By analyzing and modeling room geometries and finishes, we assess the need for acoustic room treatments to optimize speech intelligibility, recording quality or music apprecation, and provide recommendations to suit the designer’s vision for the aesthetic of the space

Noise and Vibration Control

Noise control and vibration isolation for mechanical equipment, duct-borne HVAC noise analysis, and design of enclosures for mechanical and electrical rooms to reduce noise transmission to adjacent spaces.

Testing and Investigations

We investigate and provide recommendations to remedy acoustic, noise and vibration issues in existing buildings. We provide acoustic and noise testing services including Sound Transmission Class (STC), Noise Isolation Class (NIC), Speech Privacy Class (SPC), Reverberation Time (RT60), Noise Criteria (NC) and others.

Design for Sustainability and Wellness Certifications

We have a great deal of experience in the acoustical rating requirements of programs such as LEED v4 and the WELL Building Standard and provide support to guide project teams towards certifications.
